​​​​​​Our Multi-Purpose Stadium

Our Stadium, which reopened in May 2002, has a floor area in excess of 1700m2. It is a true multipurpose facility with a huge variety of events held annually.

The timber sports floor is made of European beech from Norway, while the sub-floor system is the world reknowned junckers from Germany.  The combination is regarded as one of the best for indoor sports stadiums and this is backed by players from the wide variety of sports played at McKay Stadium.

The stadium design allows for drop-down curtains to separate courts, which provides opportunities for many smaller community groups to afford use of the floor space.  Up to 4 different user groups can now access the floor simultaneously.

Northland’s premier indoor sports stadium has the following:

• Seating capacity - 600 to 1700 people comfortably.

The total floor space available is 57m x 30m (1710m). This space can also be divided up into smaller areas with drop-down divider curtains (basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer).
Situated on Kensington Park with a user-friendly flow from outdoor to indoor.

The Stadium is available for hire on a casual or regular basis.
